Zumba Class

A typical hour-long Zumba class includes warm-up and cool-down periods to stretch your muscles and prevent injury.  Though the program takes inspiration from Latin dance, you don't need to be a great dancer to enjoy the benefits of Zumba.  Just follow the lead of your instructor as you jump, slide and shake along to the music.  Zumba claims its aerobic workout can burn hundreds of calories per hour, depending on your body type and the intensity with which you perform the maneuvers.  Self-Supporting.  Cost $25.00

Macon County Art Association Monthly Meeting

American Sign Language

This will be a time of fun and learning a new language.  At first, I will introduce American Sign Language (ASL).  Students will be exposed to basic language through: introductions, basic colors, family and more.  It is primarily survival level skills.  The course includes continued development of expressive and receptive skills while minimal simple conversational signing skills are emphasized through interactive exercises.  This class is taught exclusively in ASL without voices.

In Angelina Ballerina the Musical, Angelina and her friends, Alice, Gracie, AZ, Viki, and even their teacher, Ms. Mimi, are all aflutter because a special guest is coming to visit Camembert Academy.  Angelina and her friends will perform all types of dance, including hip-hop, modern dance, the Irish jig, and of course, ballet, and they are excited to show off their skills to their famous visitor.  Angelina is the most excited of all, but will she get the starring moment she hopes for?  Based on the CG-animated series, Angelina Ballerina on PBS KIDS, Angelina Ballerina the Musical is a family-friendly show that will have the entire audience dancing in the aisles.

Cupcake Decorating for Easter

Learn the basic fundamentals of cupcake decorating for Easter.  Develop skills in icing, molding fondant, and applying decorations to cupcakes.  Participants will create carrot patches, hatching chicks and Easter bunnies.  Each participant will be required to bring a dozen cupcakes to decorate, one can of fluffy white frosting and a flexible or offset spatula for scooping and spreading frosting.  Other supplies will be included in the cost of the class.  Self-supporting.

The Isaacs

The Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group, began singing over 30 years ago and currently features vocalists Lily Isaacs, Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs, and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman.  Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight, family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences.  Their musical influences emerge from all genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and county, contemporary acoustic, and southern gospel.  They perform frequently at the Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming Concert Series, and travel throughout the year internationally and across the United States, including a recent performance at Carnegie Hall which received a standing ovation.

The Lovin' Spoon

In early 1965 as the "British invasion" dominated the American music scene, the Lovin' Spoonful began to record and perform some of the songs that would dominate the charts and establish them among the greats of the mid-sixties era.  Combining the best of folk music and rock and roll, with a touch of country thrown in, they gave us such hits as "Do You Believe in Magic," "Daydream," "You Didn't Have to be So Nice," and the anthem for a hot July evening "Summer in the City," all in the span of four years and five albums.  On March 6, 2000, a milestone was reached for the band as they were officially inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame.
