The Future is Now
When the Department of Transportation approached the Franklin Chamber of Commerce concerning plans to redirect traffic in front of the office on Porter Street, we were presented with the necessity to consider a change in location. With that came an extensive search for a building and location that would allow for growth, a location that would be readily accessible to visitors and locals alike. What came to fruition this past week, was the culmination of that search, with the vision to create a jewel of a facility, in the “Gem Capitol of the World”.
Not Just a Chamber of Commerce
The Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce for years has been more than just a traditional Chamber of Commerce. It has long served as a Visitors Center, where folks come to get information on local attractions, events, things to do, and more. This new to us facility will allow for bigger, more extensive displays for area attractions, as well as, more exposure for our membership with a more user friendly space for information, maps, menus, and more.
Change Brings Opportunity
The new facility that will house the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, will also provide affordable and attractive office rental space, for businesses needing a satellite office, a small company wanting a step up from a home office or older facility, or a new business looking to make the most out of their facility budget. The entire second floor will be purposed for businesses, with the added bonus of a large boardroom that can be utilized for meetings, classes and functions.
We’re extremely excited for this opportunity to grow – to be able to highlight our local businesses, our outdoor and adventure opportunities, our historic gem mines & gem mining locations, and the small town charm that Franklin has to offer. Change is never easy, it is seldom painless. As the saying goes, “nothing worth having comes easy”. We feel very strongly about the future of this facility, we believe it will become a beacon for Franklin and the surrounding areas. Our love for this town, the people, the hard working and dedicated members of our Chamber family, will make all of the work going into this building worth it.
So here’s to change, to new opportunities, and the future of our Visitor Information Center and the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce! We look forward to serving you in the new year!
