The colors of fall are beginning to show their distinctive hues in the higher elevations here in the Franklin area. Dry conditions are causing some leaves to deteriorate more rapidly and dead fall is occurring. The next series of photos were taken Thursday evening along Highway 64 East between Franklin and Highlands. As you can see, water levels are also extremely low in the Cullasaja River. If you’re looking for some early color, there are some nice views up this way right along the road.
