It’s the time of year when families gather round the table, giving thanks and sharing fellowship and fun with their loved ones. The Thanksgiving holiday weekend here in Franklin, NC is being capped off on Sunday, November 29th  at 3 PM ,with Franklin’s annual Christmas Parade in historic downtown Franklin.

It’s hard to believe how another year has already flown by, but it goes without saying that kids AND adults alike look forward to the parade and all of the amazing floats that travel “down” Main Street and make their way around all of downtown Franklin.

This year’s theme is “The Music of Christmas” and the parade’s grand marshal will be Alice Bradley.  We are pleased to honor Alice “Ab”, a Macon County bus driver,  who prevented a shooting attack on children and staff at South Macon Elementary School on the morning of June 4, 2015.  If not for her quick thinking and actions, many lives could have been taken that day.

The parade will follow the same route as last year, lining up along Church Street beside First Baptist Church. The parade route will begin by pulling out on the top of Town Hill beside Town Hall. The route will proceed down Main Street turning left at the Lazy Hiker Brewing Company onto Porter Street. Then turn left onto Palmer Street and continue to the Highlands Road Intersection.

We hope to see you there and if you’re out of town and traveling this holiday weekend, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and safe returns!
