We would be remiss if we didn’t start off our post today without recognizing the anniversary of 9/11. We’re grateful to the men and women of our local Police, Fire and Rescue and EMS first responders for all they sacrifice to keep us safe and to pull us from harm when bad things happen. Thank you for all you do!
The 2013 Macon County Agricultural Fair kicks off this year’s events Wednesday, September 11th, at 1:00 pm at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center at the Macon County Fairgrounds on Hwy 441/Georgia Road in Franklin. The fair runs from Wednesday through Saturday and features local arts, crafts, livestock, a pet show, a “Best Cake in the Country” Contest and so much more. There will also be entertainment at the pavillion every evening, so be sure to stop by for some great music and fellowship.
The annual Macon County Agricultural Fair is always a great time for an afternoon or evening outing, but it also gets people in touch with the local economy and the importance of our local farmers, their livestock and their crops. Farming is still a big part of our community here in Franklin, and the fair is a great way to get a bit more knowledge about what it takes to be successful in today’s fast pace world.
