The Macon County Fair is getting set to return to the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center and Macon County Fairgrounds September 16th – 20th, 2015! The Macon County Fair is one of the only remaining fairs in North Carolina to be an “agricultural only” fair, meaning there is no midway, but there is still so much to see and do. Another great fact about the fair is that it is FREE to everyone!
There are vendors that will be set up inside the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center, along with entries into this year’s fair themed “A Wealth of Tradition” from students and groups from Macon County. They will all be on display throughout the course of the fair. Along with those displays, there will be livestock and animal shows and competitions throughout the five day event, along with other great information about the fair, which you can find on their website here: Macon County Fair
For a full schedule listing of all the fair’s events, follow the link here: Macon County Fair Event Schedule . There will be entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings under the pavilion as well as some great food, so you can grab a bite to eat, sit down, and enjoy some great live entertainment.
The fair is a great place to catch up with old friends and see what life is like in the farming community that still thrives here in Macon County. We hope you’ll stop in each evening and take in a little piece of life in the mountains!
