But that’s not just limited to Main Street! Our members are located all over the Franklin & Nantahala area, and our website can guide you to find exactly what you’re looking for. From Antiques to Yarn and everything in between, it’s just a few clicks away!
Scenic Beauty & Natural Wonders
There’s no mistaking that the Franklin & Nantahala Area is one of magical landscapes, iconic waterfalls, and legendary trails. The Appalachian Trail wanders north from Georgia into the western part of Franklin, bringing rugged and brave hikers who have challenged themselves to make the nearly 2,200 mile journey to Maine. But you don’t have to hike like a seasoned explorer to enjoy the trails. Our site offers directions and information to trails of many lengths, difficulties, and scenery. From the paved path of the Little Tennessee River Greenway in downtown Franklin, to the long loops in the back country of Standing Indian Campground, you can challenge yourself as little or as much as you desire. Our natural wonders don’t cease with the trails, as our area is host to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in all of Western North Carolina. From “Waterfall Highway” on US 64 East of Franklin, to the trails of Rufus Morgan Falls, Mooney Falls, and Big Laurel Falls, there are a wide variety of waterfalls that will both amaze and delight the viewer. Our website gives directions and information for most of the waterfalls in the area, and some that are a little further from Franklin. Add to these, the scenic loop drives of The Great Smoky Mountains and The Blue Ridge Parkway, and you’ll see that you’ll run out of time before you run out of things to see and experience!
